Wills and Estate Planning Seminar
Wednesday, January 13th at 3:30pm

Well known and respected local attorney, Grayson S. Johnson, Esquire, of Grayson S.Johnson P.C. and
Darcy Oman, president and CEO of the Community Foundation, will explain the tools, processes and
strategies involved in achieving your estate planning goals. What are the requirements for a will? What
is a trust and how do I create one? How do I have confidence my wishes will be fulfilled for family? For
favored cause? These questions are more will be answered on January 13 at the Center.

There is no charge for this seminar, however, for planning purposes we ask that you kindly rsvp.
Empty Bowls Dinner and Pottery Raffle
Saturday, February 20th at 6pm

Given by the Patrick Henry High School's Fine Arts Club to benefit WHEAT (Western Hanover
Emergency Action Team).

Help fight hunger by choosing a hand made bowl made by PHHS students and local potters to fill with
soup. Keep the bowl as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in the world.

Tickets are $15 and will be sold in advance by the event sponsors and fine arts club members.

Restaurant and Williams Bakery.
Pampered Chef Bingo
Friday, February 19th at 7:00pm
All proceeds benefit The Montpelier Center

Join us for a fun night of bingo with Pampered Chef products as prizes for each game! Admission fee is
$20 per person which includes snacks, all sixteen bingo games, and a chance for door prizes. There will be
an auction of homemade baked goods and a raffle for some great Pampered Chef items.

For the Love of the Arts
Friday, February 12th at 6:00pm

A silent and live auction fundraiser for the The Village Green project, a partnership between the Sycamore
Tavern, and The Montpelier Center for Arts & Education.

Event opens at 6pm with supper and silent auction. The live auction will be intermingled with the music
provided by the Johnson County Sheriffs, an appalachian rock & revue local band. Wheelbarrows decorated by
the community (Beaverdam Elementary, Pamunkey Library, PHHS, and local artists) will be auction off along
with other numerous items.

Here are a few of the items up for auction: A private winetasting at the Caboose for you and 20 friends, a Chef
dinner for 6 with wine at the Ironhorse Restaurant, a beach cottage in Nags head for the July 31 to August 7,
chair upholstery, a golf outing, pottery from David Camden, Art work from Barbara Jones, Nancy Tucker, Lois
Shipley , Glave Kocen Gallery to name a few. Also, Brookmeade Sod Farm, Inc..will donate one pallet of sod ( 75
square yards, 675 square feet) to be picked up at our Route 54 location. The retail value of this is $337.50.

13th Annual Celebration of the Arts Exhibition Opening and Awards Reception
Saturday, April 24th at 6:30pm

Featuring 2 exhibitions this year: The Virginia Regional Exhibition and The Young Artist Exhibition. The
evening will begin with an opening gala reception, music, wine, heavy hors d'oeuvres and the
opportunity to view works of art available for purchase.

Advance ticket price is $10 for members and $15 for guests. Tickets purchased at the door are $15 for
members and $20 for guests.

Montpelier Reunion
Friday, May 23rd from 2:00-4:00pm on the Grounds

From 2 to 4pm on the grounds. Mark your calendar for a reunion lawn party planned for the afternoon of
May 23rd from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bring your own chair and enjoy fellowship with Montpelier School
Alumni, friends, and members of the Center. We extend an invitation to everyone of all ages to gather on
the lawn to reminisce and discover new friends and learn more about the plans for the Village
Green-Mountain Road Enhancement Project. A picnic of chicken, string beans, potato salad, homemade
rolls and desserts will be available. There is no charge, but donations are welcome. While enjoying your
food, use your loose change to feed the squirrel.
Music Under the Stars FREE Summer Concert Series
Musical Guests World Jam Club - Music from Around the World
Friday, June 25th at 6:30pm

Join us for our family-friendly summer concert series on the lawn of The Montpelier Center for Arts &
Education! Bring the whole family, feel free to set up your own picnic, and enjoy a night of Music Under
the Stars!

Admission is FREE, and all concerts are Rain or Shine. Food and beverages (beer, wine and non-alcoholic
drinks) will be available for purchase. No outside alcohol will be allowed on the grounds! Outside
sandbox will be set up for children's activity.
