Open Studio 

Art Studio is open for artists, beginners and advanced, to drop by and paint with other artists at no cost. Come meet other fellow artists or make the commitment to paint weekly. Thursday mornings from 9am to 2pm

Intermediate Oil Painting with Betsy Taylor

This class is for students with a working knowledge of oils. Impression and cubism techniques along with glazing and impasto styles will be covered. Each student is encouraged to explore their own direction with their own subject matter alas will as those presented by the instructor. Materials extra. 12 weeks session. Minimum of 7 students. Monday mornings from 10 to Noon in Art Studio.

This class will cover graphite, pen and ink. Minumun of 5 required. Wednesday mornings from 10 to Noon in Art Studio

                     BLACK AND WHITE BASICS Drawing Class

 

January 12th thru February 2^nd- Thursdays 10 a.m.-12:30p.m

 $95.00 for non-members    $85. for MC members

For all levels.  Mim. 6 – Max. 12 students

 

 

This winter class offered by Ann H. Long, BFA from VCU and artist, Barbara Duke Jones will be a 4 session, 2&1/2 hr. each class exploring the basic strengths of black and white composition & design.  Using various black and white media such as charcoal, pencil, pen & ink, soft or oil pastels and water color to interpret visual set-ups, readings, and music in order to expand the student’s appreciation for composition and the simplicity of the beauty of black & white.
