Galloping Through HistoryTuesday, October 10th
7:00 PM FREE Admission Bet you’ve heard of world-renown racing rock star, Secretariat, and that his statue will be placed in Ashland next year. But, how much do you really know about him? Leeann Meadows Ladin, a new Montpelier neighbor and life-long horsewoman, shares behind-the-scenes stories of this racing phenom that you’ve never heard! Ladin co-authored, with Kate Chenery Tweedy, the beautiful coffee table book, "Secretariat's Meadow - The Land - The Family - The Legend". Copies of her book will be for sale, or bring the one you have…either way you can have it personally signed for you, or as a gift. Renewed public interest in the yet unsurpassed record-setting career of Secretariat led to exciting offerings at his birthplace, The Meadow Farm near Doswell…and Leeanne was a leading figure in the many programs and celebrations held there and across the country. Horses enrich our lives in many ways. Wings of Hope Ranch will have a display spotlighting their therapy riding program for youth. And be sure to check out the exhibit of beautiful equine art, most by Hanover County artists. Whether you have a horse, or love them from afar, you’ll find something to enjoy on October 10th.
