Montpelier Center Gala
Join us for an unforgettable evening at The Montpelier Center’s Benefit Gala on February 28, 2026, from 6:00 - 10:00 pm. All proceeds benefit The Montpelier Center, a non-profit organization.
African Americans of Hanover County, Virginia
Joe Gorman is coming to The Montpelier Center for Arts & Education for a special event featuring a 45-minute presentation, followed by a live Q&A and book signing. Come hear Joe share his story and insights, ask your questions, and meet him afterward for a chance to have your book signed. This is a great opportunity for readers, history lovers, and anyone who enjoys an evening of learning and conversation.

Breakfast with Santa + Santa's Workshop
Details
A magical hands-on holiday experience where children step into Santa’s Workshop to make crafts, meet Santa, and enjoy festive fun. Each activity is designed to feel like a “workshop station” where kids help Santa get ready for Christmas.
SESSIONS 1 & 2 ARE SOLD OUT
Session 1: Breakfast (9:00-10:00 am); Santa’s Workshop (10:00-11:30 am)
Session 2: Breakfast (12:00-1:00 pm); Santa’s Workshop (1:00-2:30 pm)
What to Expect
Breakfast - Enjoy breakfast with Santa & Mrs. Claus! Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, juice, and coffee.
Santa’s Workshop - Children receive a Workshop Passport to collect stamps at each station:
Toy Builders’ Corner – make an ornament or simple toy craft
Gingerbread Games hosted by Ashland Dance Academy
Mrs. Claus’ Cookie Kitchen – decorate cookies
Santa’s Letter Station – write letters to Santa
North Pole Post Office – mail letters & get a Santa postcard
Storytime with Mrs. Claus – holiday story and selfie station.
Pictures - Pictures with Santa will be taken inside The Montpelier Center. One free 4 x 6 photo is included.
Limited seating - advance registration required.
Breakfast and Pictures cannot be purchased separately
Children must be accompanied by an adult for the entire workshop.
Cost:
$20 per child – includes breakfast, crafts, & passport
$10 per adult – breakfast only
Spooktacular Night of FUN
The Montpelier Center for Arts and Education, in partnership with The Arc of Hanover, invites teens and adults (ages 14+) with disabilities to a spirited evening of music, games, crafts, and festive treats! Sensory-friendly, inclusive, and full of Halloween spirit.

Historian Richard A Cheatham gives a presentation about the American colonies and their successful war of independence. Part of the VA250 Commission.

Chair Yoga
Valerie Forde-Galvin offers Chair Yoga on Wednesdays from 6:00 - 8:00pm for ages 18+. $60/session.
Monday-Funday
This summer, join us every Monday as students can stay in the flow of school in a fun way! Students must be potty-trained.
Fly Tying 101 - Adult & Child
Boyd Waters will teach you how to tie the most popular fly patterns. Class for one adult and one child. July 13 at 2:00 pm.
Shark Week in Watercolor
Visit the murky depths during shark week with artist, Donna Whitman as she unveils two fun and easy techniques for creating a realistic underwater masterpiece!
